KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - JUNE 21: Malaysian Prime Minister and President of the ruling party, the United Malays National Organization (UMNO), Mahathir Mohamad delivers his closing speech at the party's annual general assembly 20 June 1999 at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The party ended its assembly with a rousing show of support for Mahathir, setting the stage for his re-election attempt.
